One of the best part of moving to a new area is the opportunity to scope out new 'favs and I guess find also places you'd rather not revisit. Unfortunately, it's the later at this little mom 'n pop place along the parkway in Gulf Breeze. I exclusively support the underdogs (not chains) when it comes too a good food at a reasonable price. And based on YOUR REVIEWS my fellow yelppers, my two daughters and I went this morning. As per reviewers, there's not much in the way of "ambiance" at this shop, which is okay by me. It's hard to spell and nobody eats ambiance anyway. But I was disappointed with the menu, which offered a pretty standard list of omelets, biscuits and build your own egg-and-piggie breakfasts. The menu stated, "famous homemade cinnamon rolls" but no one tried that or specialty coffee. Order service was speedy but the food came after quite a bit, fresh but surprisingly slow since there weren't a lot of people there. Each plate is, "fully loaded" and so quantity wasn't a problem. For me quality was. The omelets were awful, my daughter and I had the ham and cheese, which was not generous chunks of ham steak chopped up with the eggs, but rather what appeared to be sandwich ham slices which had been grilled and curled. The three eggs were doused with what appeared to be a huge glob of cheddar and my daughter's over-easy eggs breakfast featured bacon burned to a crisp. The homemade hashbrowns looked good, but disappointed. Never saw the wait staff after the food came out, my daughter went hunting for ketchup on another table and I had to go the register for my check. Not a happily- ever-after-ending to this meal. Sadly, there aren't enough local spots in this town and way too many fast food boxes: ihop, and waffle house---ugh. Oh well, back out the Native Cafe on the beach for breakfast next time!

This place used to be great but has gone downhill terribly. My wife and I stopped in for lunch and after waiting 45 minutes for our two sandwiches to arrive decided to find food elsewhere. While we were waiting we watched two other parties leave without food and witnessed three people send their food back. Avoid.

if you have not experienced this opportunity in the last 6-months you are missing out. We no longer have to go to Navarre or GB for breakfast and/or lunch, just walk in say hi and make yourself at home. They have specialty coffees, a complete menu along with orders to go if desired. Not everyone that I can say positive about Chuck and the ladies there.

My husband loved the Cuban sandwich. He did mention that the roasted pork on the sandwich was dry, but not a big deal. Pork is usually dry. I got the 15 Bean Soup and it reminded me of the soup my mom always made when I was growing up. It was delicious and very filling. Great prices and great staff. We live 1 mile away. So glad we finally stopped to try it. We will return. Can't wait to try their breakfast! I'll update later. **Edit on 1/25/14: Went for breakfast. It was awesome. My 4 year old daughter got a pancake and two sausage patties. Ms. Picky ate it all. I couldn't believe it. She even snagged half of my biscuit and ate it up. I got the New York omelet with corned beef and swiss cheese. So good! Never thought I'd like that combo but it was awesome. Also got hash browns (extra crispy) and biscuits. The biscuits are some of the best biscuits I've ever had. My husband got a two egg plate (scrambled) with bacon, biscuits, and hash browns. The bacon really is awesome (someone else mentioned how good their bacon is). He's also pretty picky and he liked it. We shared an order of french toast and that, too, was good. Love powdered sugar on my french toast. The only negative is the smell in the joint. You end up smelling like breakfast all day. Not a big deal to me. Definitely not a deal breaker.

This is a legit sandwich spot. Not the fanciest of places but it makes up for lack of decor in quality of food and service. So far I've had the Cuban which was spot on and the country fried steak sandwich was great as well. Good fresh and made to order. I was very pleased and look forward to going back and trying more. Prices are fair and all though it get quite busy I still have not had trouble finding a seat at the busy lunch hour.

I always have breakfast here when I'm in the area. There can be a wait for the food but it is so worth it. This is the best breakfast place.

Not much to look at in the way of decor but it was nice and clean. Ordered a cup of coffee and she not only brewed me a fresh pot but preheated my cup, as well. Very nice touch. I'm interested so far in what the 'Red Hen' soup and turkey sandwich is going to taste like. Looking forward to it.

Not fancy but the food is delicious. I would eat here all the time if I lived here. It's hard to find places that actually cook food from scratch and not just throw some frozen stuff in the microwave. Loved it :)

White gravy almost as good as my mom's! Seriously, biscuits & gravy can only get so good and this is the first time in my life I have had any that could even come close to my mother's superb southern cooking. The best hamburger I've had on the gulf coast. HOMEMADE SOUPS EVERY DAY, usually 4 from which to choose. My new addiction. I love this dumpy little place and all the smiling faces I encounter there. You will like it.

The soup tastes like frozen vegetables and water, and it costs almost $30 for two people to eat lunch here!!! Pretty expensive for some NASTY little burgers and revolting soup. Never again!

Found this place two weeks ago and I love it, my wife thinks it was great also. After my third visit the manager has my unsweet ice tea ready before I am ready to order. I have tried five different items in my 7 visits (yep, this is becoming my place) and everything was hot and well prepared. Staff knows a lot of the customers by a first name basis. I came in an hour early today and the manager said wow you are early. Maybe they have a new manager (I believe her name is Emily) but I couldn't ask for better lunch food and better service. I am highly impressed. They get busy, today was the longest I have waited for food and it was 10 minutes with a restaurant full of customers. Try it sometime, I will see you there. Finally after 11 months in the area I have found a spot

Amazing breakfast that doesn't empty your wallet. They added an espresso / coffee bar. Great lunch spot. It's locally owned and everyone there cares about their customers!

It was ok, but nothing to write home about. The Newport club was a bit on the dry side and the broccoli salad tasted like sweet coleslaw. Very friendly and quick service. I would go again, but I'd try something else.

Not much for you if you don't like soup and unique sandwiches. Their salad bar was closed and it was only 1pm.

Great sandwich, we had the Cuban... awesome! This place doesn't look like much from the outside but is worth the stop. Would be a five if not for the fact that the place smells disgusting. They need to get their grill fan fixed or something, we had to drive with the windows down to blow the stink off our clothes. Order to go!

Had breakfast last week with the family. Have to say I was impressed. Everything cooked to order, fast service, and cleanliness. I have always loved their lunch menu. I will definitely be frequenting their breakfast now. ** their home fries are delicious!
